I was able to go through Chris and my Type 01 FFL and was able to get these rifles on Sale for 130ea.It is only by increasing the number of citizens with a positive first hand shooting experience can we have any hope of maintaining that right. We cannot do it by preaching to the same choirs over and over. For years, the staple rifle for training new people to firearms was the SKS carbine.
The operation is pretty clear and simple, basic simplified controls and sighting, extremely reliable, reasonably accurate, and inexpensive to shoot. Let alone if we are going to be able to count in it being imported consistantly in large quantities. Toz 78 For Sale Plus Shipping PerThe price of steel cased imports lately have stabilized at arounf 150 plus shipping per thousand. But one thing I know for sure is that there will be no more 69 a case delivered Sapsan specials from Century Arms again. Maybe in ten to twenty years from now, we will see an awesome run of low cost surplus ammo. All bought by various nations since the Bush War in Iraq, hopefully it will not be used. Guess we will see. During the late 1990s through 2004 we saw a wonderful boom in nations wanting to ditch their Cold War reserves. Until these days return, I can no longer to afford to train newbies on the SKS anymore. I could give a newbie (or even myself for a shooting session) 100 rounds and they would have enough to learn Rifle 101. Now it costs 18. Thats a big jump. The cost effective logic of shooting a.22lr is nothing new. I have been shopping around for a decent bolt action.22 for some time. There are many.22 rifles out there. I did not want to go with a semi-automatic, like a Ruger 10-22. Although it is an excellent firearm, I wanted a bolt to promote slower aimed fire. The problem here is I wanted a few of the same type of rifle. My options for used indentical rifles were the Romanian M1969 trainers. These can be bargains if you can find them close to the FFL price. You have no idea on how the previous user has taken care of the rifle. Couple this with the not so precise and detailed machining and metal work of CUGIR, the rifles are only worth it if the price is good. Before people get defensive now about their Romy Trainers, I am not saying they are bad. I ended up finding a Sale price on Tula Arsenal TOZTO3-78 rifles: Some of you may have seen these for sale from Southern Ohio Gun or AIM Surplus. Not sure on SOG. What the deal is on the most recent batch of rifles is they were made in a large production lot in 2004. They were then distributed by Tennessee Gun and other vendors.
